Remembering Jessie's smiling face greeting all the fans at Northwest football games. It was a privilege to know this man. He will be remembered by all the students and parents that knew him, for his military service and the contributions he made to the Woodlawn Community. May GOD comfort his family and friends at this most difficult time. Rest in Peace Jessie.

I am putting my words here, but feel sure the rest of the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department would approve. I met Jesse many years ago when he came to our Department for our a annual turkey shoot fundraiser. He was a terrific shot and always took home what he came for. He came to shoot for himself, and for the elderly in our community. He always had a friendly word, a smile, and told us stories about himself and his life. It definitely won’t be the same this year. God Bless you Jesse, you will be missed.

Jessie, thank you for all you have done to help make me who I am today. You taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and to never give up in pursuit of my dreams. I witnessed you give selflessly to so many people throughout your life. Students, neighbors, and friends could always count on you to willingly offer a helping hand in times of need with no expectation of anything in return. You will truly be missed.
